PROJECT’S TITLE
‘KALİMERHABA’
OBJECTIVES
In general;
The action named by banding the words of ‘Kalimera’ from Greece and
‘Merhaba’ from Turkey appears to be the word for friendship of the
Aegean and the Mediterranean, would contribute greatly to boosting
the development of amicable relations between the publics of Greece
and Turkey. The project is to be a cultural and commercial platform;
which strengthen and develop the existing socio-economic relations
been made by the entrepreneurs led by regional Chambers and
Professional Associations.
In specific;
1.
To coordinate mutual affairs reinforced by the Council of Greek-Turkish
Cooperation on behalf of Muğla Province with respect to the nature
of relations.
2.
To precipitate process of infrastructure in order to develop
scheduled economic and social sectors: Laboratory for raw vegetables;
Mutual improvement in communication skills and instruments:
Preparing joint programmes through mass communication tools; Setting
up language schools; Setting up the Turkish-Greek Chairs within the
regional Universities.
3. To counteract economic and social barriers immobilising the
affairs: Modernisation of visa process: Establishment of
representation of Greek Embassy at Muğla Province
4. To transfer foreign trade know-how to Muğla Province
5. To explore the common Greco-Turk cultural values: To concrete
the ideas as such the projects of ‘The Garden of World Faith and
Tolerance’ and ‘World Peace Forest’, as well as ‘Worlds Citizens
Festival’.
PRIORITY AXES
1. Improvement of accessibility and communication ( Initiating
for direct flights between the regions civil air zone: Promoting
civil aviation)
2. Strengthening of cross-border entrepreneurship (Free
consulting services)
3. Promotion of cultural and tourist activities as well as
development of various forms of tourism( Settlement of Greco-Turk
Animation villages; Enrichment of ethnography museums; Joint
archaeological diggings; Archaeological and Ethnographic Fairs,
Joint Handicraft Fest)
4. Development of Regional capacity throughout cooperation in
management of environment and cultural resources (Preparing joint
environmental projects; Use of Solar Energy in lightening Cities;
Creation of ‘World Peace Forest’)
5. Boosting mutual cooperation of institutions (Improving the
dialogue between the Universities)
6. Cooperation of educational institutions for the promotion of
cross-border cooperation (Establishment of Turkish language schools
in Rhodes and Greek Language School in Muğla)

where the content refresh monthly vis-à-vis developments. The sites
are designed with respect to afore mentioned projects objectives.
Audiovisual features of the sites will ease the life for their

The Concept: Both countries authors, social life, sport, culture and
art, commercial agreement papers, EU common Customs Union
procedures, updated export-import schedules for both countries,
Tenders for both states concerning the region, vacancies, tourist
activities, the calendar of joint organisations, useful information…

Monthly refreshed contents of the sites will be distributed through
‘Haber’ magazine been published over 12 years in Muğla Province

‘Annual Kalimerhaba’
o
is the magazine that will be published annually at the beginning of
touristy season at Turkish and Greek sides. First volume has been
foreseen 50.000 copies being edited covered high quality, on glassy
paper with American volume style and coloured.
o
Will be free of charge and be available at both sides Chamber of
Commerce’s and Industry, in ferries working Turkish-Greek line, at
air and sea ports, cultural information offices, large touristy
institutions, large shopping centres, sports and leisure centres.
o
In case of joint fair organisation, there will be special edition of
Kalimerhaba Magazine for such fairs

‘Kalimerhaba FM’
Radio
o
Will be on all year long 24/24, oriented to play motivated music for
both side’s people, as well as educational programmes, professional
announcements and calls, information for the tourists. And
throughout internet the radio will be listened all over the world
ACTIVITIES
Business-Chat Days:
These business and holiday days will be organized with the
collaboration of regional Turkish-Greek Chambers of Commerce,
Industry and Stock Exchange Institutions. This business meeting
initiative will be the backbone of all business development efforts
between Turkish and Greek sides within the ‘Kalimerhaba Platform’.
This is designed to bring SME representatives of two sides together
as well as to prepare well-being conditions for mutual commerce. The
days will be prepared according to the needs of sectors and new
opportunities. This initiative aims to counteract the barriers of
custom regulations, foreign trade and transportation procedures by
offering professional consulting and translating services as to
capacity of SME representatives will be promoted. However, this
initiative will be a packed programme including the completion of
final paper works of any businessman intending start up import-export
through the foreign trade facilitating services offered by
‘Kalimerhaba Platform’ during the days.
Trade Fairs:
‘Kalimerhaba Aegean Coast Tourism, Travel and Yachting Fair’ will be
held in September 2007 organized with the contributions of two
countries by Ajans Villa Ekip. Turkish Exports Fair will be held in
Crete, October 2007 and in Rhodes, November 2007 organised with the
collaboration of Ada Consultancy.
Concerts:
It is prevue that South Aegean Philharmonic Orchestra consisted of
Dodecanese and Marmaris Philharmonic Associations will have a
concert by two countries musicians in Marmaris and Rhodes in May
2007.
Exhibitions:
The Exhibition and Activities of 8 Mars International Woman Day will
be held both in Rhodes and Marmaris
Seminars-Conferences:
As the nature of platform these activities will be organised to meet
people from two sides to explore the new opportunities and
challenges about the issues ranging from natural life to industry
Sportive Competitions:
‘Kalimera Amity Cup’ aimed to promote cooperation instead of
competition. The cup will compose sailing, paddling, swimming,
cycling and running so that new way of competition will be presented
to the world sport life. The race course presumably will include
Fethiye, Muğla, Milas, Bodrum, Datça, Simı, Rhodes and Marmaris.
Festivals:
Kalimerhaba Amity and Peace Festival will be organised by two
countries in order to welcome people from all over the world in
Muğla Province and bordering Dodecanese region.
